Our miracle

Baby Watch 2009

Hi all! Well, my due date, Mother's Day, May 10, 2009 came and went. I was so close to celebrating my first one with a little newborn.

On, Monday, May 11, we went in for a check up...still not much action. I am dilated to 3cm but JB is not ready to make his entrance yet as the head is still fairly high up. So, we'll sit back and continue to anticipate his arrival.

JB's room

OX and I trying out the changing table to make sure JB will like it. Can you believe we'll actually have a baby wearing this outfit in a few days!!!
Dad to be just could not resist this adorable rocking horse for his little cowboy!
Filled with so much joy and happiness! We've finally finished JellyBean's room. We hope he has lots of fun with all the monkeys as well as some restful naps in his room.

40 Weeks...but who's counting!

39 Weeks and 3 days...Still No Baby

A good friend of mine informed me that at this stage all messages should start with either: Still no baby or Baby on the way! :-) I thought that was excellent advice. So, Still no baby! As I ended the second trimester and moved into the third, I was so elated and wanted to be pregnant forever! :-) Guess what??? Now, I am ready to get the show on the road! Little did I know! ha

Now, I am really ready but JB once again taught me that he will make his appearance on his own time line. Good for him!

My official due date is May 10, 2009. Mother's Day! What a unique gift should he arrive on this day. It would be especially sentimental as I too was born on a Mother's day-many moons ago!

I am filled with so many emotions right now and all I can think about is meeting this beautiful baby boy very soon. We've waited a long time for this little miracle and so what is a few extra days?

Our hearts are filled with so much joy and anticipation as we await his arrival.

Our first Christmas at home

Christmas 2008

The family is sure growing quickly. Christmas 2008

We were really excited to host our first Christmas in our house. We've never had a Christmas at our own home. This year my parents drove up to spend the holidays with us. It is a bit bittersweet as this will be our first and last Christmas in this house. We will be moving to our new home in March.

Just Do it!

Our dear friend, Wendy S., gave the baby the perfect gift. A pair of running shoes! She even picked the right colors well before we knew what we we're having. We can't wait to put the baby in these shoes and see him fly on by us. I hope he gets the gift of speed like his Dad!

Our first born. Isn't he so cute?

Cody J. with his Christmas bandana. Of the 3 hounds, he is by far the best and sweetest! He's also the oldest. He will do really well with the baby.

Christmas Day

It is late afternoon on Christmas and we are just relaxing. For those with kids, obviously we realize that this will be the last time we could ever do something like this! We ended up opening gifts later that evening. From here on out, it will be the 6am Christmas day wake up calls.

John with his buddies

These are some cooking fools!

My parents kept us well fed over the holidays! So much so that my doctor brought it to my attention that during the holidays I had my biggest and fastest weight gain period. Yikes! But it was good!

Getting ready for our first Christmas at home...ever!

It's a Boy!

Mamma's taking a break (Christmas 2008)

Taking a breather after a great dinner that Mom prepared. Also, thinking about whether or not we will find out the gender of the baby. I am dying to find out but John wants to wait and be surprised. Stay tuned!

Look at that belly! Early December 2008

It's early December and we are taking our annual running vacation to Kiawah Island. John ran the half marathon but I took a break this year. I could not even indulge in Mark's, a dear friend, famous cocktails-fresh oranges and vodka tonic-yum! In any case, it's all worth it as we await a healthy Jellybean in May. As you can see here, I am very proud of my little 'dun-lap' that I am sporting on the top of the lookout point near the water.

Getting a little bigger - Thanksgiving 2008

We are visiting John's family in Baltimore for Thanksgiving. We are very excited as we've been waiting to tell his family the great news in person. I know! It's been hard keeping it a secret this long but we just wanted to be able to share the news with them in person. John decided to run a slide show of our vacation pictures from Southeast Asia after Thanksgiving dinner. All went as planned, and we had pictures scrolling at the end of the slideshow with the baby's first ultrasound. For my parents, we sent a package of jellybeans to their house along with an email. We called them and had them open the email of the ultrasound along with the care package of blue and pink jellybeans. They were shocked and excited to say the least! All though it was funny as my Dad's inital comment was 'what am I looking at a picture of a mountain?" PRICELESS! My Mom starts screaming as she immediately got it and then my Dad started screaming with her too. So, all in all, it was fun to share the news with the family.

Some one's starting to show (12 Weeks) Cayman Island Vacation

We flew to Grand Cayman Island for our friend's wedding-Meggan and Kris. I was so worried that I would not fit into the bridesmaid dress! It was a close call but I did squeeze into it! We had a great time at the wedding. Plus, it was great to get away for a long weekend at the beach. I am feeling really great as I hit the end of my first trimester. Still no morning sickness! Lucky me.

Look at me - now 12 weeks old
